So if you applied and got approved for one of their cards, you’ll need to activate it before using it.
What You Need Before You Activate
Before starting the activation process, make sure you have these card details handy:
- The last 4 digits of your card number
- The last 4 digits of your social security number
- Your email address on file
This is standard stuff they’ll ask for to confirm your identity.

Activating online is fast and usually takes just a minute or two.
Here are the steps:
- Open up your web browser and go to avant.com/activate.
- Enter your email address from your account.
- Input the last 4 SSN digits.
- Type in the last 4 credit card digits.
- Click “Activate card.”
And…that’s it! Your new credit card is now activated and ready for purchases. 🎉
When you login to your account dashboard, you can set up autopay, enroll in paperless statements, check your balance or available credit, and manage the card.
Activate Through Your Avant Account
If you’ve already created your online account, you can also activate your card by:
- Visiting avant.com/card
- Logging in with your email and password
- Entering the last 4 card digits
- Inputting the last 4 digits of your SSN
Just like that, your account and card will be activated!
Activate by Phone
You can also give Avant a quick call to activate:

When prompted, provide your identifying card and account details over the phone. After verifying your information, they’ll activate your account and new credit card.
